Ergonomics

There are several reasons and advantages for using mats in catering establishments.

Ergonomics

The ergonomic mat can strengthen the muscle activity of the legs and feet thanks to its flexible surface. Thanks to advanced technologies, anti-fatigue mats also solve problems related to long-term injuries that are exposed to the risks of standing work. thermal photography shows blood circulation in the lower body of a standing worker.

Stop accidents

Approximately one-third of accidents that end in long-term incapacity for work are caused by a fall or slip in operations. It can be water, fats, oils, biological and other waste, which cause extreme slipperiness. Slipperiness cannot be completely eliminated by normal cleaning, and even special anti-slip surfaces are not safe after cleaning, because a thin film of grease remains on them. In this case, mats made of special rubber compounds, which eliminate the risk of falling, are a permanent and effective solution.

Against fatigue

The human body is adapted to movement. Standing for a long time in one place is manifested first of all by lowering the heart rate and strengthening the main muscle groups and muscles around the spine. Contraction of the muscles causes the veins and blood vessels to narrow, slowing blood circulation. Accumulated blood in the lower limbs creates a feeling of heavy legs. Pain in the sacral part of the spine and a stiff neck are another manifestation of impaired muscle supply. The reaction of individual parts of the body is then perceived together as a mixture of pain and fatigue.

Protection

Floor mats made of special compounds absorb the energy of falling objects, which can cause multiple damages. They reduce the risk of their breaking or damage, the noise level and at the same time protect the surface of the floors. Glass and porcelain in the kitchen or knives and saws in the processing industry will no longer pose such a great risk of injury.

Isolation

Industrial floors tend to be cold and damp. A worker standing on a mat does not feel the cold of the floor and it does not affect him as intensely. This fact also contributes to well-being and comfort.

A profitable investment

Ergonomics expert Dan MacLeod derived a rule according to which the price of 1 minute missed per day at the workplace due to employee fatigue is equivalent to the sum of EUR 500 per year. Investing in better working conditions in the form of buying mats is therefore a profitable investment.

Body temperature in practice

Red and yellow tones induce a higher body temperature of the person standing on the right, which is the result of the stimulation of muscle activity.

The person standing on the left is not exposed to the ergonomic mat. Blue and green tones show poor blood circulation in the lower limbs.
